Character Guide

Just like the first two series, I’m posting a character guide (which I’m probably going to be updating from time to time) for my “New Titans” series. You can find the actual stories on Fanfiction.net. There’s a link in my signature.

The Titans


Hood
Real Name: Unknown.
Hair: Black
Eyes: Unknown.
Race: African American
Powers: No super power, but a talented athlete and top notch fighting skills. Armed with twin nightsticks and various gadgets.
Notes: Basically the new Robin, though even more angsty (if that’s possible). Joined the team to get back at criminals that ruined his life when they set his father up to take the fall for a crime. He doesn’t get along with others well, going so far as to avoid eating with them. Only time will tell if he’ll ever open up (come on, he’s got to, right?).

M
Real Name: Somebody who reads this might know…maybe.
Hair: Black
Eyes: Red.
Race: African American
Powers: Never touches the ground. Never. Ever. Not even if you pull on him. No force on Earth can make him touch the ground. More importantly, he can teleport and create explosive orbs of energy in his hands and hurl them, or simply implant them in an object. The size of the orb determines the force of the explosion.
Notes: Based off a friend of mine (hope he doesn’t mind, too late to take it back now so, bleh.) His behavior is rather…odd, but a genuinely nice guy. Likes the ladies, though rarely has luck. This could be due to bad pick up lines. Rather then swear, he will make up strange insults. An example being “Why you green bean eating, beady headed…!” and so forth. Knew Helios before joining the team.

Helios
Real Name: The same person who read the previous one may know this one too. HINT: He’s HUUUUUGE.
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown? (Like I’ve ever stared into his eyes before…)
Race: Caucasian
Powers: Absorbs solar energy like a living sponge. This allows him to be extremely strong and difficult to damage. The others are unaware of this, but he’s just beginning to learn what he can do. Other powers may emerge in time.
Notes: Based off another friend of mine. He’ll probably be pissed that I didn’t slim him down…but screw him, I gave him super powers and his health. That’s enough for him, I’d say. Not like he’s done ME any favors. …made me the villain of his Yugioh! fan fic. …actually I liked that…okay, I’m getting off topic.

Skeemat
Real Name: Ashley Wilson
Hair: Red
Eyes: Green
Race: Android
Powers: Superior strength, though her best “power” is her intelligence. A capable inventor, she handles all of the mechanical needs of the Titans as well as supplying herself with a battle suit. Like her “father”, she can invent things at many times the average person’s speed, provided she knows exactly what she’s trying to build. While stronger then the average human, she is vulnerable without her suit.
Notes: The daughter/creation of Jay Wilson (Gremlin), she chose to rebel against her father and join the Titans due to being close friends with two of the other members since junior high. She’s rather harsh, having never been seen as much more then a project. This causes her to be very surprised when her teammates help her with situations that aren’t life and death.

Beast Boy
Real Name: Daniel Logan
Hair: Green
Eyes: Blue
Race: Caucasian
Powers: Capable of altering parts of his body into that of an animal to varying degrees. This allows him to do things like grow gills, increase his strength, vision, or sense of smell, and other useful things. He can also combine attributes, but only two at a time. It drains him to do so in rapid succession.
Notes: The bastard child of Garfield Logan (the first Beast Boy) and Tara Markov (Terra), he so far has shown no signs of any of his mother’s power.

Conjure
Real Name: Debra Knight
Hair: Purple
Eyes: Green
Race: Human/Demon hybrid.
Powers: Possesses a powerful soul self like her mother, though this one takes on the shapes of numerous animals, rather then just birds. Empathic and possessing the ability to heal by taking the pain into herself, which heals the wound as a side affect.
Notes: The love child of Garfield Logan and Raven, Conjure does not acknowledge Gar as her father, choosing to give that title to the man who actually raised her. This said, she bares no grudge against Gar either, understanding that it was her mother that left Gar behind, not the other way around. Conjure’s soul self and her are constantly battling for dominance. Furthermore, if she isn’t careful, it could slip out and start tearing things apart. It was given the name “Appa” which is short for apparition. Like her mother, Conjure follows the teachings of Azar and it’s reflected in the rarity that she uses her own body to inflict physical harm, using Appa instead. Appa will also act to protect her on its own, not wanting its host to die before it can take over. Polite and proper, she always addresses people by their full names (i.e. Daniel rather then Dan or Danny). Her closeness to her mother is shown by her costume choice (resembling the comic book Raven’s) and her chakra stone on her forehead.

Ebony
Real Name: Arella Knight
Hair: White
Eyes: Purple
Race: Human/Demon/Alien dog thing mix
Powers: The ability to turn shadows solid and use them as weapons and tools. She can also fly and has limited telekinetic powers, which she generally uses on her shadows. She also has her father’s enhanced senses, nails, and teeth.
Notes: Daughter of Shade and Raven. She takes after her father in many ways, but one. Due to having a peaceful and happy childhood, she’s cheerful and accommodating…to a point. A firm believer in justice, she had wanted to be a superhero for many years, even going so far as to beat up bullies at school, some of which were older then her by up to three years.

Instructors

Changeling
Real Name: Garfield Logan
Hair: None.
Eyes: Green
Race: Caucasian
Powers: Can turn himself into any animal he knows about, including less advanced alien life forms. He can also become a completely new type of creature simply called “The Beast”.
Notes: After a night of drinking (illegally might I add), Beast Boy and Raven had a night together (though neither really remembers it, showing how wasted they were). Despite attempts to forget it ever happened and make sure nobody ever knew, it became impossible when Raven told him she was pregnant and unwilling to terminate it. Despite his pleas, Raven left the tower. After Starfire abandoned Earth as her home and Cyborg left with the Technis, the Titans fell apart and were disbanded, though not before finally changing his name from Beast Boy to Changeling. Though he never married her, Changeling lives with Terra and fathered Daniel Logan, the new Beast Boy. Thanks to Starfire’s visit to the future providing a warning, Changeling has managed to avoid getting too out of shape…though medication only managed to hold off his hair loss.

Cyberion
Real Name: Victor Stone
Hair: None
Eyes: Blazing Orange
Race: Techno-organic life form (I guess)
Powers: Capable of interfacing with virtually any electronic equipment. Super human strength and durability. Capable of altering his body’s shape, but not color. This allows him to form things like his old sonic cannon.
Notes: After being contacted by a computerize collective consciousness, Cyborg allowed himself to be downloaded into it to prevent it from attacking Earth in its quest to learn all it could about humankind. The more time went on, the more humanity he lost until his memories as a human vanish almost entirely. When the Technis’s craft neared Tamaran, vague memories stirred, prompting the Technis to assault the planet in the hope of regaining the friends he had lost (not that it understood the desire to be such). Starfire, now Empress of Tamaran, mounted a counter assault against the unknown attacker, but found herself fighting a losing battle. With her forces being captured constantly, Starfire ordered her soldiers to take refuge, guarding remaining civilians while she went for special reinforcements. Now fighting the reformed Titans, Cyberion, the new mindset of the Technis-influenced Cyborg, regained his memories, and his humanity. He returned to Earth, though his low self esteem caused by his unusually appearance was never more devastating. He helped rebuild the tower and often works along side Skeemat to improve designs. He lives with Sureshot in seclusion.

Sureshot
Real Name: Melissa Dratter
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Race: Asian
Powers: Experimental training program has given her strength, stamina, and agility that never fades, regardless of activity. Her mind was filled with all the knowledge that an assassin could ever need, including how to kill someone with a piece of paper. The training was so affective that it gave her an instinct for combat, allowing her to almost always second guess her opponent correctly and react accordingly. She’s armed at all times, but only to what she can fit in her pockets while in civilian clothes. Fortunately, she has deep pockets.
Notes: Once Cyborg’s girlfriend, when he departed from Earth, she began to suffer from low self esteem and loneliness despite staying in contact with the other Titans, specifically Raven and Shade. She even went so far as to baby sit for them once or twice. To this affect, she decided to get various forms of cosmetic surgery done. This has earned her disapproval from her friends, especially Cyberion whom she now lives with. Despite him moving in, as of yet no spark has reemerged between the two. She herself shows no regrets about changing her appearance stating that she was tired of looking like a man with long hair. Due to the injections she received as a child, Sureshot has developed a heart condition.

Terra
Real Name: Tara Markov
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Race: Caucasian
Powers: The ability to manipulate the Earth in various manners. She can cause Earth based natural disasters such as earthquakes or mud slides or can actually tear the chunks of rock from the ground, levitating them, throwing them, or reshaping them. She has grown more powerful since her teenage years.
Notes: Terra’s eyes have started to go bad, resulting in her wearing contact lens to deal with it. She will only wear her glasses when she’s home. Her cloned body so far is showing no adverse affects…nor any benefits. She lives with Changeling, despite not being married and realizes that the day will probably never come. Fortunately, she never really wanted to be married anyway. While proud of her son’s nobility, she hates the fact that he has to put his life on the line. Still, she realizes that it’s no longer her place to dictate what he should do with himself. Her feelings toward Conjure are less then friendly, though she tries not to show it. She’s aware that it’s not her fault, but it didn’t make much difference. Still, Terra doesn’t hate the green skinned girl and in time may accept her more.

Shade
Real Name: Derk-avian (his mail says Derek Knight though)
Hair: White
Eyes: Gray
Race: Unnamed alien Canine Descended race of human-like beings
Powers: Manipulation of shadows and darkness. While stronger and faster then the average human, it’s not impressively so. Due to being canine like, his sense of hearing and smell are much greater then that of a human beings. His powers are almost god-like, but due to numerous complexes brought on by a terrible childhood, he is unable to use them to their fullest. He can vastly increase his powers, but first he must be driven into a near homicidal rage. To justify the use of such force, the shadows wrap around him and take the shape of a monster, making it seem that, in a way, it’s not him doing it.
Notes: After the terrible maiming of his twin sister Krystal, Shade went on a downward spiral, staring with a night of drinking his guilt away. Upon finding him, Raven tried to comfort him with no success. In fact, he hurt her feelings so badly in that drunken stupor that she decided that it would be best to break up. Depressed and no longer willing to imbibe, Shade’s work as a Titan began to suffer. He chose to quit rather then be expelled from the team in shame. Some time later he found Raven living on her own with a baby only weeks away from being born. They rekindled their love and he helped raise the illegitimate child, along with fathering two children of his own, twins, just like himself. Raven made him get a vasectomy to prevent her from EVER having to experience that pain again. Shade works as a firefighter, using his powers to extinguish flames effortlessly. In his spare time, he works as an artist, mostly for cartoon strips and the like, but it’s more of a hobby then a real job. He’s proud of his daughters (he considers Debra to be his daughter), but reasonably disappointed with his son…because he’s evil.

Raven
Real Name: Raven “Rachel” Roth
Hair: Purple
Eyes: Purple
Race: Human/Demon hybrid
Powers: Empathic. Capable of sensing, taking away, or altering people’s emotions. She can fly and has numerous mental powers, including telekensis, These powers all seem to stem from her soul self, a black ghost like thing that often takes the form of a giant bird. She’s also very talented at magic.
Notes: After being subjected to a drunken Shade’s insults, Raven decided to break up with him. One year later she found herself pregnant with Beast Boy’s child. While not an overly tragic thing, she didn’t want to break Beast Boy and Terra apart, so she left. While in the supermarket, she encountered Shade. Having done poorly in her attempts to secure a job and already late on the rent for her apartment, she chose to move in with him. The spark returned in their lives and they had twins one year after Debra was born. …she immediately made sure Shade would never get her pregnant again. They got married some time later. Raven started to write novels and found a moderate amount of success as an author, usually writing the roles reversed. What was usually the villain was written as a hero while the heroes were villains. For example, a story about a pride of werewolves had to fight off a group of humans intent on causing their extinction was one of her best. Since Debra suffered from problems similar to hers, Raven grew closer to Debra then Arella, but not so much that it bothered Arella.
Villains

Gremlin
Real Name: Jason “Jay” T. Wilson
Hair: White
Eyes: Blue
Race: Caucasian
Powers: Capable of constructing equipment at high speeds. Genius level I.Q. and vast knowledge of electronics and mechanics.
Notes: After his partner and only friend G-9 (sad that he had to build his only friend) was utterly destroyed from direct exposure to an EMP (she had also been bi-sected at the time) Gremlin entered a state of semi-retirement. He had been working on a project to create another, even more sophisticated android like G-9 prior to her demise and managed to finish it. This project was Ashley Wilson, who would one day become Skeemat. After completing that he took to two different things. One was reconstructing G-9, a task he failed at time and again because her personality had been an utter accident to begin with. The second was being a father to his new “daughter”. He failed at this as well. Now that his daughter/project has abandoned him to be a superhero, he’s decided to create something new in its place…using blood samples.

Damien
Real Name: Damien Knight
Hair: White
Eyes: Red
Race: This again…Human/Demon/Alien Dog thing hybrid
Powers: High intelligence and a talented sorcerer
Notes: Nobody knows why Damien went evil. His mother and father were caring, though understandably they spent a lot more time with his siblings due to their powers. Still, they praised his intelligence, tried to get him to make friends, and all the other things good parents did. And he WAS intelligent. His biggest disappointment was coming home with a B+ and that was only once when he was seven. He just plain thought everybody was beneath him. After discovering his heritage on his mother’s side, he decided that he would take Trigon’s place. In his mind, nobody else was qualified for the job anyway. He was soundly defeated by his own half sister (well, she ruined his plan while Hood hit him upside the head) and locked up. Only time will tell if he’ll ever escape (and let’s face it, he will).

Frost
Real Name: Unknown
Hair: Blue
Eyes: Blue
Race: Assumed to be human
Powers: The ability to freeze moisture in the air and expel a chilling mist from her mouth and nose. Has a connection with her twin sister that allows her to see through her eyes.
Notes: The calm and collected member of the pair, Frost comes up with all the plans. She’s almost always bored, but doesn’t seem to mind it. Taken in and raised by Slade, they eventually turn on and killed him after years of too harsh a training regiment.

Infernus
Real Name: Unknown
Hair: Red
Eyes: Red
Race: Assumed to be human.
Powers: The ability to self combust without damaging herself. She can hurl fire balls and blasts of flame from any part of her body, usually using her hands. She can also emit smoke from her mouth and nose.
Notes: The impulsive and ill tempered of the pair, Infernus relies on her sister to do the planning since she hasn’t the patience for it. It was her that actually finished Slade by hugging him while completely ablaze.
